Includes 4.75-gallon mesh step-can style wastebasket which can easily be emptied by stepping down and lifting basket out. Magnetic safety interlock stops shredder when wastebasket is removed. Wonderful Shredder, it works quickly and efficiently. Bulky papers shredders easily in no time at all. Waste basket is easy to empty. I am lubricating it with recommended oil which makes easy to use and regular oiling and have had no problem so far. Wish I’d bought one of these more sooner!

I didn't read the item's specs closely, and was surprised at how large it is. That's a plus for me, as it means fewer trips to empty the bin into the recycling barrel. The DS-1 replaced a small, cheap shredder which frequently jammed and eventually broke, even with light use. The DS-1 feels much more solid, has a larger feed capacity, shreds faster, and is /much/ less prone to jamming. Well worth the extra price.

I have this shredder now for a 3 years and it works great.We use it every single day. Has a good look too. It is pretty expensive but it worth, does a great job. If you are looking for a shredder- that's the one.

if you are looking for a cross cut shredder for home/home office at a reasonable price, this is the one to go with..
