FAQs :

1) What is that ticking noise I hear when I turn on a Royal Sovereign electric coin sorter?

The ticking sound is normal, when you first turn on the coin sorter it will run an anti-clogging self-test, therefore you will hear a ticking noise until the test is complete.

2) Why do my coins skip off the top of the tube and not filter into the coin slots?

Make sure that the preformed coin wrappers are not higher than the plastic tube. The coins cannot slot into tubes if wrapper overlaps plastic opening.

3) Can I use flat coin wrappers with Royal Sovereign Coin Sorters?

Yes, we give instructions in our owner?s manuals on how to use flat coin wrappers.

4) Do I have to use Royal Sovereign coin wrappers with Royal Sovereign Coin Sorters?

No, but we do recommend that you use Royal Sovereign (FSW-216N--216 assorted wrappers or FSW-360N--360 assorted wrappers) coin wrappers. Royal Sovereign coin wrappers are preformed and carefully nested to fit our coin sorters.

5) Why do pennies occasionally sort into the dime tube?

Pennies and dimes are similar in size and thickness, therefore pennies occasionally sort into the dime tube. This will cause a slight bulge in the coin wrapper that is readily noticeable. Please remove and try again.

6) What does the Batch Counting feature do on the Royal Sovereign Cash Counters?

The Batch Counting function allows you to count bills in batches from 1-999. For example, if you want to sort into piles of 100 bills, the machine will count 100 bills, then stop. Once you remove that batch, it will continue counting the next batch of 100 bills, then stop again. This process will repeat until there are no more bills left.

7) Why does my Royal Sovereign Cash Counter make a ticking noise every time I turn it on?

When you first turn the machine on it will run a self-test, therefore you will hear a ticking noise until the self-test is complete.

8) What does the ADD function do on Royal Sovereign Cash Counters?

The ADD function allows you to count the number of bills in the hopper and accumulate the total number to the previous count. For example, the machine will count 100 bills, then stop. Once you remove that batch, it will continue counting the next batch of 100 bills, then stop again and add 100 plus the original 100 to display 200 total bills. This process will repeat until there are no more bills left or you when reach a total batch of more than 999.

9) Do Royal Sovereign Cash Counters count total dollar amounts?

No, Royal Sovereign Cash Counters do not determine the difference in denomination and therefore cannot count the actual dollar amount. Cash Counters count the number of bills only.

10) Why do the Royal Sovereign Cash Counters allow counterfeit bills to pass through if they possess counterfeit detection functions?

Although Royal Sovereign Cash Counters and counterfeit detectors have different sources of counterfeit bill detection, they do not have all of the elements to detect every grade of counterfeit bill.

There are several elements in detecting counterfeit bills such as:

1. Ultra Violet or UV - a type of counterfeit detection that uses UV light to detect authentic bills.

How does UV detection work? Most bills have UV components on their surface. A UV sensor built into the Royal Sovereign Cash Counters (Model #RBC-1000, RBC-1002, RBC-1003) analyze the reflective UV ray from the bill when it passes through the counting process. For example, a counterfeit bill is identified when it passes under the UV light and a more than normal reflective UV ray responds.

2. Magnetic or MG - magnetic detection is a counterfeit measure used to detect magnetic components in currency.

How does MG detection work? A MG sensor built into the Royal Sovereign Cash Counters detects a special ink that has magnetic properties that most currencies possess.

Other corporate banking counterfeit bill detector elements include:

Infrared Sensor ? detects presence and quality of infrared ink.
CMYK ? detects four color printing processes
RBC-1000--has Ultra Violet (UV) detection only
RBC-1002 & 1003--both have Ultra Violet (UV) and Magnetic (MG) detection
