(3/17/2014) New Jersey, NJ - Cassida Corp. announced that it enhanced its 5520 Professional Currency Counter to include additional feature ValuCount, which allows users to get a count of different denominations while keeping track of the total value of the bills in the machine's stacker. The company has started shipping the upgraded version of the currency counter.
Matt Goldfain, product marketing manager of Cassida, said that the enhanced version will streamline many cash handling duties as the new feature allows the currency counter to work as a bill counter while offering certain properties of a currency discriminator.
The currency counter's new LCD screen will display bill counts as well as count values in easy-to-read format. Apart from being compact and portable, the currency counter can process up to 1,300 bills per minute.
Cassida currency counters are easy to use as they come with the ability to detect a wide range of counterfeit bills through their ultraviolet and/or magnetic sensors, depending on the model. Once a counterfeit bill is identified, the counter will stop the count to dispense the suspected bill into its stacker for removal. The LCD screen will also display the reason the counterfeit bill was rejected.
Through infrared sensors, 5520 Professional Currency Counter can spot a wide range of bill discrepancies, including half, double and chain notes. Whenever such discrepancy is spotted, the user will be alerted with an audible beep and an error message on the LCD screen. Also, the enhanced currency counter comes with a steel hopper to make the counter more durable.
The new, enhanced Cassida 5520 Professional Currency Counter are available for less than $200.
